My ALL time favorite song ever!!! Plus, I love the movie. And I just love that it's a narrative of this guy who is in love with this girl and notices everything about her and how she looks in pink.

Today was a lovely day to get out. We hooked up with all the PWGI's. It was so wonderful to meet you all, and H and M it was so wonderful to see you after all this year gone by. We all took the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful weather by eating lunch and heading to the Arboretum to enjoy the spring flowers. Of course, being Easter weekend, it was quite full of people, but not as full as I might've expected. We made a nice go of it finding all the "HP flowers." We saw tons of Pansies and Petunias. Most of the Pansies were paired with the Narcissus, but none of the Narcissus had bloomed out yet. Perhaps it was due to the dry weather. This was the first time Brad and I have taken the baby out on a big outside outing. It was much too hot last summer and she was much too little. She enjoyed all the sights and all the people, and was all smiles after her nap. We took loads of pictures of her, and I pray they all come out. Stupid us for forgetting our digital, and having to resort to the store bought disposables. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

We all took the opportunity to kick off our shoes and sink our hot toes into the cool, soft grass. Who knew grass could be that luxurious and soft. It was delightful! I forget how magical and beautiful the gardens can be. My husband took me there on our first day date. It was rather delightful to return five years later.

The later part of the day was not as delightful for the baby. We took her into urgent care. Turns out the poor angel has a sinus infection. But the good thing is that we got her an antibiotic to clear up the infection, the good decongestant that you can only get at the doctor - rather than the crappy over the counter stuff, and finally a replacement aspirator to replace the one the dog ate. I'm telling you the aspirators they give at the hospital are FAR SUPERIOR to any you can buy at the store/babiesrus. The ones from the hospital are worth their weight in gold. Our poor puppy was nearly a crimson stain upon chewing up our original one. Now we have a good one again! Yeah! The dog can live freely again. LOL!

The babe is finally crawling.  I wasn't so prepared for this as I thought I might be.  She's very independent and likes to get around on her own without her space being crowded.  I realized a couple of days ago that I am in for trouble and she's not even a teenager.  As I was changing her, she was pulling on the blinds and I told her NO in my very best "Mommy means business voice."  She just let out the biggest belly laugh.  Stinker!  She doesn't laugh at Daddy when he gives her his "Daddy means business" voice. She's also started this scowling thing, in the past few days.  She goes from smiles to scowls in two second flat.  Oh, the girly emotions rear their head. LOL!

She bit me for the very first time last night.  I know she didn't do it purposely and that her poor little gums are aching from the teeth that are arupting, but a bitten breast never feels good.  It was enough to make me want to cry.  I told her NO and pulled her away.  She didn't like that, and hasn't done it since.  Wish me luck she got the message and doesn't try it again.

Currently I'm working on two fics.  One just popped into my head this evening.  The other I've been working on for a couple of weeks.  Super thanks to my friend Heather for all her editing and encouragement.  I've got more to send you.  I'm still really scared to put it out there.  *prays for confidence*

why do I stay up so late? I know I'm going to regret this tomorrow when the alarm rings early.

I've been working on my first fic tonight...adding, deleting, anguishing over language and image. I just want it to be good. I won't be happy until it's flowing like milk and honey. Good heavens that could be never! Hello, reality...*taps self on head*. I'm so critical of anything I do. I can't half ass anything. Seriously...I can't even half ass emails at work. I can't allow myself to pick it apart over and over because i know it won't be what I want it to be if I do that.

I get these great ideas for fics, parts of fics, sentences, descriptions, at work when I'm walking to or from corporate services...but can't seem to remember them when I get home. I wish I could carry a tape recorder with me, but that would just be weird and I'm sure people would be like...have you seen that girl in Product who carries around the recorder and talks to herself. *guffaws at image of looney-self* Oh why can't I press a record button on my brain.

Okay...I'm sending my fic in waiting to Heather for some needed perspective. Bunney...I could use you here too.

So I just finished watching Pretty in Pink - an all time favorite of mine - and I never realized until just tonight how hideous the dress that Andie wears to prom is. Seriously, they could have made it a bit more attractive. I realize that she's supposed to make the dress herself, but I made plenty of dresses in high school...none that hideous. It sort of ruins it for me. Though I had to enjoy the easter egg colored dresses on the rest of the girls, with big poofy sleeves...God love the 80s. *wink*

That movie has the best soundtrack...nice 80s new wave. Seriously, check it out if you don't know. Most of the John Hughes movies with MR have great soundtracks. I own them all. *jumps up and down clapping hands in delight* I used to want to be Molly Ringwald.

I'm so thankful for the weekend. Finally some time to sleep and nap. Bless my husband who watched the babe while I took a little catnap this afternoon. We spent most of the afternoon with some good friends who are expecting their first little punkin next month. We've been trying to get together with them for ages.

Also got my eyebrows waxed. *sqee* They were horrible! They look nice and clean...no icky stray hairs anymore that you don't realize you have until you are driving in the car and look in the mirror. Anyone ever notice that...you think you've plucked them to perfection and then you get in the car and realize that you've missed a whole patch of really dark hairs...like, what the hell, how could I miss that?! So now I feel a little less cavewoman.

On other fronts...really sucking it up on my basketball bracket. I can't believe that Duke lost...I had them all the way to the final game. Don't get me wrong. I'm SO glad they lost, because I hate Duke, but that just really f*ed up my bracket. Still, I had them pegged to lose to UConn in the end. I'm pleasantly surprised to see that LSU is bringing the heat...even surpassing Texas. So if they can beat UCLA, then it'll most likely be UConn and LSU. So didn't see that coming. I had LSU losing to A&M in 2nd round. I should know better than to pick the aggies *gagging*. Still I was trying to support Texas teams. Gah! I was secretly hoping that Texas would surprise us all and win their 3rd national championship this year...for a trifecta - football, basketball, baseball.

Finally understanding how to do some stuff on LJ. Yeah! *big grin* Love adding icons, and just upped my icon use to 100...well worth the $30, and fun to make them my own. Just added a ton of Audrey icons...especially Holly Golightly ones. I suddenly feel the need to watch Breakfast at Tiffany's. Maybe tomorrow.

I've tried to find some icons from Shag, the movie, because it is my all time favorite movie. But alas, can't find any. Any of you especially adept at finding randomn icons...wanna find me some Shag ones? If I knew how to make them, I'd make my own, but not that cool yet.

I want to thank my friend bunney who took up my challenge to write a fic based on my icon. I think it looks like a self portrait of HGDM. The story she wrote is just wondeful!  It's called photo opportunity.  I'd advise going to read it on her page.  As soon as I can figure out how to freaking link stuff I'll link it. *damn you LJ for making it hard* ;)  You made my day with it Krissy!

So, I stayed home sick and finally got the mounds of laundry done that needed getting done.  *checks off list of chores to do*  I received my Slytherin shirt from ebay and so now that it's clean I can wear it to the next PWGI function. *does rain dance for 4/1* LOL!  Also got some much needed sleep.  I think they should warn new mothers in the child birth classes about how much sleep you really will be losing, for more than just a few months. Don't know how I am going to function when #2 comes around.  Not that LJ is helping.  I get sucked into a story and can't walk away until I'm through it.  I'm putting myself on a restriciton of 2 stories a night....or only 3 chapters...if it's a long story.
